Genesco, Inc.’s UK-based subsidiary, Schuh, has appointed Laura King as chief marketing officer, signaling what the company reported is a “renewed ambition to be an unrivaled fashion footwear destination for Gen Z and Gen Alpha.”
King will also join the company’s senior leadership team, led by Schuh President Colin Temple.
The Journeys sister company said, “King will lead the marketing, creative, visual merchandising, brand partnerships, purpose, public relations, talent, and community departments.”
“Trust me, it took somewhere really special to coax me back into a full-time role… and this is it,” King wrote in a LinkedIn post. “I’m excited about the opportunity to build on my experience in what I’m passionate about — fashion/sportswear/youth culture with a fantastic team in a truly values-led business.”
King has served as a VP of Save the Children UK since January 2024. Prior to that, she was global marketing director for the UK’s largest high-street accessories-only retailer, Accessorize.
Previously, she served as brand marketing director, Europe, at Urban Outfitters, where it is reported she “had complete responsibility for brand and marketing in Europe for the U.S.-based retailer and that came after building her bonafides during a nine-year stint at advertising agency Wieden & Kennedy, where she managed the Nike account.”
