Puma has created a separate Business Unit for Training at its global headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany, to sharpen focus on the “important growth category.”

The newly created Business Unit Training will be headed by Marwin Hoffmann, who most recently served as the VP of Global Marketing Outdoor at Adidas.

Previously, the Running and Training categories were grouped into a single business unit operating in Boston.

“With strong partners such as Hyrox, the World Series of fitness racing, training has become an increasingly important global category for Puma, where we see considerable potential,” said Maria Valdes, chief brand officer at Puma. “By creating a separate Business Unit for Training in Herzogenaurach, we can sharpen our focus and be closer to our key partners in this category and other Business Units.”

In 2025, Puma named Training as one of its global focus categories, alongside Running, Football and Sportstyle (Prime/Select).

Hoffmann was at Adidas for just over 17 years. He was VP of Global Marketing Outdoor from December 2021 to July 2025. Previous roles at Adidas included senior director Brand Sustainability, senior director Brand Concepts & Brand Sustainability, Global Brands and senior director Horizontal Concepts Apparel, Global Brands.

Hoffman will report to Valdes effective immediately.

Erin Longin, previously responsible for Running and Training, will continue to lead Puma’s Business Unit Running in Boston.
