UK-based Passenger is continuing its expansion into Europe with the opening of a distribution center in Germany, marking a milestone in its global expansion.

The outdoor clothing brand stated in a media release that the result of an eight-month-long project, conducted in partnership with a pure-play contract logistics provider, was handled by its in-house team. Passenger now occupies between 21,500 square feet and 32,300 square feet of warehouse space at a site outside Düsseldorf. The expansion brings the brand’s total warehouse space to over 107,600 square feet, including its UK site in northern England.

The EU is Passenger’s highest growth region, with YoY sales growth for the whole EU in 2024 being over 180 percent. Countries where the brand is gaining traction include Germany, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

The brand stated that it has a “growing list of retailers it has partnered with in Europe, all of which are expected to benefit from improved access to products and streamlined logistics.”

“Partnering with GXO to open a distribution centre in a key market couldn’t come at a more pivotal time for Passenger,” offered Passenger CEO Jon Lane. “We are seeing strong growth in Germany and other EU countries, so we’re excited to be able to now service our D2C and B2B customers much more efficiently, offering improved next-day and express delivery services throughout Europe.”

Lane continued, suggesting that the opening of a distribution center closer to the markets where they operate makes sense logistically and also enables the company to deliver faster to customers, but it also makes sense from a responsibility standpoint, as well as reducing miles traveled for products delivered.
