Misto Holdings, aka Fila Holdings, is said to be strengthening its retail presence in Malaysia as part of a broader strategy to reinforce the country’s role as a strategic hub for Southeast Asia.

Seoul, South Korea-based Misto reported Thursday that its Malaysia subsidiary has opened four new Fila stores during the first half of the year across major commercial districts, including Kuala Lumpur and Penang. With these additions, Fila’s retail network in Malaysia has reportedly expanded to a total of 14 stores, “further strengthening the brand’s offline presence in one of Southeast Asia’s key growth markets.”

The company said these latest openings represent more than retail expansion.

“They are part of Misto Malaysia’s strategic retail growth initiative, designed to strengthen Fila’s presence in locations selected for their strong consumer potential and commercial appeal, the company said in media release. “As one of Southeast Asia’s key retail hubs, Malaysia offers a combination of solid purchasing power, a mature shopping mall landscape, and a diverse multicultural consumer base, making it an ideal market to showcase and refine differentiated brand experiences before expanding across the region.”

Misto argued that by expanding into prime commercial districts and enhancing differentiated brand experiences, Misto Malaysia continues to strengthen Fila’s competitiveness while deepening consumer engagement in the Malaysian market.

The new store located at Gurney Plaza, Penang’s premier shopping mall, operates as Southeast Asia’s very first Fila 1911 Store. In addition to showcasing Fila’s lifestyle and performance collections, the store features a dedicated Heritage Zone that highlights the brand’s history and sports heritage. The Penang location also represents the company’s third flagship-scale store, following its Sunway Pyramid and Mid Valley Southkey locations, with each store spanning over 200 square meters.

Misto said the Fila 1911 concept is scheduled to expand into additional Southeast Asian markets beginning in 2027.

“Malaysia is a strategic hub for our Southeast Asia business,” a Misto Holdings spokesperson stated. “Beyond expanding our retail network, we are committed to creating differentiated retail environments where consumers can naturally connect with Fila’s history, values, and sports heritage. Going forward, we will continue to strengthen our retail footprint while expanding the Fila 1911 concept across Southeast Asia.”

Misto Holdings owns and manages a collection of iconic brands, including Fila, Titleist, FootJoy, Scotty Cameron, Vokey Design, KJUS, and others, spanning the sportswear and golf equipment industries.
