Germany-based Lowa Sportschuhe GmbH has appointed Giuseppe De Biasi as its new general manager of operations. Most recently, he was the general manager, retail Greater China, at Luxottica. Previously, he was the retail sales and operations director, EMEA, India, and Greater China, serving at Luxottica for over 12 years.

Luxottica is the maker of prescription frames and sunglasses under various licenses, as well as the owner of the Ray-Ban and Oakley sunglasses brands and the Sunglass Hut and Lens Crafters retail chains. Prior to joining Luxottica, De Biasi spent just over 11 years at Whirlpool EMEA.

Lowa, owned by the Italy-based Tecnica Group, said in a LinkedIn post:

We are excited to welcome Giuseppe De Biasi as our new general manager of operations. Bringing extensive international leadership experience and a strong operational background, Giuseppe will oversee design, product development, production and central corporate functions. Together with Andrea Dorigo and Marco Pirani, he joins Lowa’s management board.

“We look forward to working together as we continue to drive Lowa’s growth, strengthen our product portfolio, and shape the next chapter of our brand.”

De Biasi wrote in a separate LinkedIn post:

“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Geschäftsführer | General Manager Operations at Lowa, a premium outdoor footwear brand within the Tecnica group. I take on this new responsibility with gratitude, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of purpose. I bring with me the experience I have gained over the years by working alongside outstanding professionals, to whom I owe my sincere thanks. Every challenge, every success, and every setback have helped shape the leader I am today.

“I will dedicate to Lowa my experience, my passion for building and improving organizations, and a deep sense of responsibility that has taken on an even greater meaning since becoming a father. I hope to give this organization at least as much as I have received throughout my career by working with integrity, supporting people, and contributing to a culture where great results come from great teams.

“I am excited for what lies ahead.”
