Italian sportswear label Kappa signed a long-term co-branding agreement with Britain’s Superdry & Co. covering apparel and footwear across the UK and select European markets.
The first Kappa x Superdry collection is scheduled to debut for the Spring/Summer 2027 season.
Kappa, which was founded in Turin, Italy in 1916 and is owned by Turin-based BasicNet Group, is the latest brand to join the Superdry brand roster, following licensing agreements with Bench and Stan Ray in the past six months. Kappa is the first sportswear brand in the portfolio.
Julian Dunkerton, founder and CEO, Superdry, told Drapers: “Kappa is one of the great Italian sportswear brands. The archive is extraordinary. This is exactly the model that’s working for us. Bench has flown, Stan Ray delivers workwear for us, and now Kappa gives us a sports-inspired offering. Each brand has its own DNA and its own reason to exist, and none of them compete. We’ve signed Kappa for the long term because that’s how you build something that truly resonates.”
BasicNet’s brands include Kappa, Robe di Kappa, K-Way, Superga, Briko, Jesus Jeans, Sebago, Woolrich and Sundek.
