Austria-based Head Group has acquired British cycling apparel brand Le Col from Puma Growth Partners. The company said the investment continues Head’s expansion of its sportswear and apparel division based in Milan, Italy.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We are pleased to have exited Le Col to such a strong counterparty and believe Head will be a superb custodian of the Le Col brand going forward,” commented Rupert West, managing director of Puma Growth Partners.
Le Col was founded in 2011 by former professional cyclist Yanto Barker. The brand is reportedly known for its Italian-made performance gear developed through wind-tunnel testing and WorldTour feedback.
The brand offers Pro, Elite, and Sports lines for men and women, and reportedly saw significant growth in the early 2020s.
The Le Col Kit is designed in London and manufactured in Europe.
Headquartered in Kennelbach, Austria, Head Group owns and operates Head, Tyrolia, Mares, Aqualung, Zoggs, SSI, and Revo and focuses on performance sports equipment and apparel for the winter sports, racquet sports and watersports categories.
