EssilorLuxottica announced the launch of a share buyback program, reflecting the eyewear maker’s “confidence in its value creation and long-term prospects.” The program calls for the buyback of up to 5 million shares, depending on market conditions.
EssilorLuxottica’s eyewear brands include Ray-Ban, Oakley, Persol, Oliver Peoples, Vogue Eyewear, Arnette, Alain Mikli, Costa, Bliz, Native Eyewear and Bolon, along with reading glasses brand Foster Grant. The company also operates several eye-wear chains, including Sunglass Hut, LensCrafters, Target Optical and Pearle Vision in North America; and makes eyewear under licenses, including Chanel, Giorgio Armani, Prada, Versace, Burberry, and Tiffany.
