EvoShield LLC named Mike (V.A.) Van Alstyne its president, effective immediately. As president, Van Alstyne will report directly to the EvoShield board of directors.
 
Van Alstyne has been serving as EvoShield VP of sales and marketing since January 2015. Under Van Alstyne’s leadership, EvoShield has achieved impressive year-to-date results in sales inventory management and the launch of a new line of Gel to Shell products for the 2015/16 Baseball Season. In addition to delivering on ambitious sales and product development goals, he has led initiatives at EvoShield in strategy, recruiting top talent, and best practices. These actions have helped drive solid topline growth and expanded the Company’s market share.

Van Alstyne succeeds Robert “Bob” Pinckney, who served as EvoShield CEO from 2010 until November 2014.
 
About Mike Van Alstyne:

Prior to his role at EvoShield, Van Alstyne served as one of two senior VP and GMMs at Sports Authority from 2011 – 2013, leading the $1.3 billion Hardgoods division that supported 470 stores in 40+ states. Van Alstyne successfully led this division through complex seasonal and regional sales peaks, consistently delivering results above the corporate average in revenue growth, rate growth, inventory turn and gross margin return on investment.
 
From 2003 to 2011, Van Alstyne held several other leadership roles at Sports Authority, working with Athletic Footwear & Apparel, Licensed entities (NCAA, NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL), Team Sports, Golf, Tennis, Snow Sports, Action Sports, Bikes, Camping, Hunting, Fishing, Eyewear, Watches and Sport Accessories.
 
Van Alstyne worked at Gart Sports from 1997 to 2003, serving as VP and divisional merchandise manager and then senior VP and GMM for Softlines Activewear, Footwear and Winter Apparel. Van Alstyne’s background also includes six years with Easton Sports from 1992 to 1997 as VP of sales for U.S. and Latin American, forging relationships with retailers such as Dick’s Sporting Goods, Sports Authority, Academy Sports & Outdoor, Modell’s, Hibbett’s, Sports Chalet, Costco, MC Sports, Dunham’s and Big 5 Sporting Goods.
 
Van Alstyne received a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Economics from Illinois State University. He lives in Denver, CO, with his wife and four children.
