Erik’s Bike Board & Ski, with 34 locations primarily located in the Midwest, announced plans to open a new location in
Fayetteville, its first store in the state of Arkansas. The store, located at 1052 E Stearns Street, is set to open this July.
“We’re really excited to be in Northwest Arkansas and extend the Erik’s brand into such a vibrant cycling community,” said Erik Saltvold, founder and CEO of Erik’s Bike Board & Ski. “The cycling infrastructure and culture is unique and inspiring, and we are proud to be a part of it.”
Erik’s has hired longtime Rogers resident Jonathan Whiteman, formerly of The Bike Route in Fayetteville, as the store manager of Erik’s Fayetteville. The Bike Route, opened in 2010 and acquired by Specialized Bicycle Components in 2022, recently closed.
Erik’s said it has existing ties to the Northwest Arkansas cycling community. In 2021, Dave Olson, Erik’s president and partner and volunteer chair of the nonprofit Bicycle Industry Employers Association, worked on the ground with Northwest Arkansas Community College to help launch its Bicycle Assembly & Repair Technician program, one of only two in the U.S. This work also helped lay the foundation for NWACC’s Trail Technician program, which launched in the fall of 2024.
Erik’s, based in Minneapolis, MN, has stores in Arizona, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
