USDA Forest Service informed Vail Resorts, Inc. that an organization called Environmental Advocates, a California based advocacy group and law firm, and Ms. Luanne Wells filed an appeal to the decision of the Forest Service approving the land exchange related to the Company's proposed “Front Door” project near the Vista Bahn at the base of Vail Mountain.

The appeal seeks reversal of the Forest Service's approval, alleging that the exchange parcel was undervalued, or alternatively, requests that limits be placed on the use of the exchange parcel to correlate with the approved appraised value. Unless resolved through an informal voluntary process provided for in applicable federal regulations, the USDA Forest Service must issue a written decision within 45 days of the appeal deadline concerning its disposition of the appeal.
