The Sports Shop in Elk Grove, CA, closed after 45 years in business.
Mark Willeford, the youngest child of founders Len and Mona Willeford, told the Elk Grove Citizen that the closure was due to increased competition from online retailers.
Willeford is continuing to operate the retailer’s embroidery and engraving business.
