Eko Sport, Inc of Grand Junction, CO purchases Mountain Speed, Inc., the maker of Mountain Racing Products (MRP) of Portland, OR.

“We continue to look for opportunities to expand our current base of products. MRP presents an opportunity for us to expand along a planned growth direction with a name and product line synonymous with quality and market leadership. MRP is a great fit with the other brands we manufacture and distribute,” says Tim Fry, President of Eko Sport.

MRP, with 49 National and World Cup titles in DH and Dual Slalom since 1996, is the benchmark for chain guide retention systems. The patented roller guide systems are found on the majority of DH bikes today. MRP has also expanded its offering into the DH and Freeride markets over the last few years with the LRP (Long Range Patrol) chain guide system for multi chain rings.

“The purchase of MRP helps us round out our MTB product offering and align our manufacturing and sales strategy for the DH and Freeride markets,” says Jason Tillinghast, Sales/Mktg Manager for Eko Sport. “We had existing plans to expand within these markets, MRP gives us the additional platform we want to expand from.”

Eko Sport has contracted with MRP founder and President Josh Paris for future development of the MRP line. “This is a very exciting transition for MRP. Eko Sport has so much to offer MRP, but most specifically a vision to take the brand to the next level and beyond! The future of MRP is very bright,” says Paris.
