Eddie Bauer, LLC, the operator of Eddie Bauer’s North American stores, plans to permanently shutter its headquarters in Seattle, WA, and lay off about 60 employees in the process.

According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing in Washington, Eddie Bauer reported the plan to lay off 44 of its corporate employees on April 30 and another 15 on June 1. Some of those impacted employees may be eligible to transfer to an affiliated company, the notice states.

The WARN does not include employees at Eddie Bauer’s retail stores that are in the process of closing.

The Seattle Business Journal previously reported that Eddie Bauer’s Seattle-based marketing and creative teams had been laid off after being notified on January 14. It is unclear from the report whether those layoffs were included in the WARN filing, though it lists affected roles such as design manager, senior creative producer and director of marketing operations.

There were approximately 88 people employed at Eddie Bauer’s Seattle office as of January 1, 2026.

“As part of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization, Eddie Bauer, LLC, has reached a restructuring agreement with its secured lenders that calls for the liquidation of all 175 locations in North America, including 31 in Canada. At the same time, Eddie Bauer LLC will explore a potential sale of all or part of the store operating business in North America.”

In court filings, Eddie Bauer, LLC has proposed a deadline of March 3 for potential bids for the business, followed by an auction in bankruptcy court on March 6. Whether the business finds a buyer or liquidates, Eddie Bauer, LLC plans to seek confirmation of bankruptcy by June 18.
