Climber and performance artist Timmy O’Neill unveiled the dates and venues for the first Environmental Action Tour (EAT), a 3-city eTown-style event that will bring together leading characters of the alternative environmental community and share their stories, films, songs, and insight into why it's so damn important to care about our relationship with the earth.

The tour, dubbed EAT with Timmy O’Neill, makes stops in:

  • Portland, Hollywood Theater – November 9th
  • San Francisco, Cowell Theater – November 14th
  • Asheville, N.C., North Carolina Stage – November 16th

Each stop on the tour will feature multi-media presentations by and conversations with one or more regional enviro-hero and one national enviro-hero, plus music, films, readings and, in typical Timmy fashion, whatever else pops up. And the pace of the entire gig will reflect the urgency thanks to the emcee talents of outdoor and out-there comedian Timmy O'Neill, who will be accompanied onstage by keyboard sidekick, Greg Swingle. (Think David Letterman meets David Brower.)

As more outdoor athletes come face-to-face with deteriorating conditions in their favorite recreation areas, a new “enviroactive” movement has begun to emerge in which the athletes take a more active role in the protection of the resources. EAT with Timmy O’Neill is a call, an invitation to an evening of environmental action where you can learn from some of the movement’s pioneers how to make an immediate change in your life to help save the world or at least your neighborhood.

Confirmed guests include Kipchoge Spencer, founder of Extracycle sport utility bicycle and WorldBike, and Allison Gannet, professional skier and founder of the Global Cooling environmental education tour.
