Eastbay announced a new digital web series, titled Preparation Nation, about the unique training and pregame rituals of the most elite high school football programs in the U.S. Featuring cameos from top professional football players and some of America’s best high school athletes, it details the struggles these players must overcome to get in peak physical condition and prepare to win. Additionally, Eastbay is seeking submissions of high school football’s best training regimens and will award $20,000 to the school with the most unique and effective drill/video.

Preparation Nation will illuminate how high school football training varies wildly between programs depending on fascinating regional and cultural traditions. High schools featured in the series incorporate diverse training programs such as Carroll High’s (Southlake, TX) 75-exercise circuit that involves training at a rapid fire pace and Crespi High’s (Encino, CA) “Countdown Drill” – an intense routine that focuses on motivating your partner to get through the workout.

“Eastbay is all about preparing athletes to win. We’ve always had the best gear to take the field in, but now, we want to show insights into how the best of the best prepare for their Friday Nights. Preparation Nation shows how the best high school football programs train their players and see what makes each program unique,” said Steve Horn, Eastbay Brand Director. “Football takes countless hours of grueling weekly training, and that aspect is not as well known to the general public as the games. But it should be, as it proves hard work pays off.”

The documentary-style Preparation Nation also features several high-profile professional football players showing off their techniques and drills to elite high school football programs around the country. The pros surprised the students and helped evaluate how prepared the students were to own the field.

Players featured in the film include Dallas running back DeMarco Murray, training with Pulaski Academy in Little Rock, Arkansas; Atlanta wide receiver Julio Jones with Carroll High School in Southlake, Texas; and Arizona safety Tyrann Mathieu and cornerback Patrick Peterson with Crespi Carmelite High School in Encino, California.

“My training regimen in high school definitely laid the foundation for me throughout my college career and my early professional career,” Peterson said. “I taught the kids at Crespi High School to always put their best foot forward because you never know what tomorrow’s going to bring. You want to play with a passion and a love each and every down.”

To show Eastbay’s commitment to athletic training, a $20,000 grand prize will be awarded to the high school that is judged to have the most unique and effective training program in the country. High schools can submit a video of their unique football drills at Preparation Nation’s website, EastbayPreparationNation.com.

“No matter what the drill, we want to hear about it if it works,” said Horn. “Striving for excellence is one of Eastbay’s core beliefs, so we’re happy to reward any program that truly prepares its players to be ready for anything on the field.
