DPS Skis announced that Charlotte Ljungquist will join the company as managing director of Europe, reporting to DPS President Stephan Drake.

Ljungquist comes to DPS from EF Education First, where until most recently she was their systems director. Starting in September, she will be responsible for DPS’ European operations, including retail and marketing efforts and sales force management.

Ljungquist’s hiring coincides with the implementation of a European distribution facility new for the 2012/13 season, enlisted to mitigate shipping costs for European customers and dealers, while expediting order fulfillment time.

“Europe is a critical market with passionate skiers. DPS’ European growth has been strong over the last few years, and now is the time to take it another level,” said Stephan Drake, DPS’ president. “With Charlotte’s passion for skiing and her diverse management expertise, we’re thrilled to have her continue to grow DPS’ presence throughout Europe.”

Before becoming systems director at EF Education First, Ljungquist held positions as their sales manager, director of publications, and publications manager. She is a graduate of School of Business, Economics, and Law at the University of Gothenburg.

Ljungquist will be based in Engelberg, Switzerland-a ski town rich in tradition with some of the best ski terrain in Europe-also a town where DPS’ roots run deep, home to Oskar Enander, Piers Solomon, and countless DPS trips over the years. Engelberg has been Ljungquist’s home ski town for the last decade.

Based in Salt Lake City, DPS has pioneered the devleopment of Pure pre-preg carbon fiber sandwich and rockered skis.
