Dillard’s, Inc. reported merchandise sales for the four weeks ended Aug. 28, 2010 were $426.8 million compared to sales for the four weeks ended Aug. 29, 2009 of $431.1 million. Total sales decreased 1%. Sales in comparable stores were unchanged on a percentage basis for the four weeks.


Sales for the 30 weeks ended Aug. 28, 2010 were $3.2 billion, compared to sales for the 30 weeks ended Aug. 29, 2009 of $3.2 billion. Total sales were unchanged on a percentage basis. Sales in comparable stores increased 1% for the 30-week period.


During the most recent four-week period sales were slightly above the average total company trend in the Eastern and Central regions and below trend in the Western region. Sales of shoes were significantly above trend during the four-week period while sales in the home and furniture category were significantly below trend.
