Dick’s Sporting Goods confirmed Wednesday that it will launch a new specialty retail concept under the Field & Stream banner. The first Field & Stream store, expected to open this fall in Cranberry Township, PA,  will carry the best brands to meet the evolving needs of hunters, anglers and outdoorsmen.

Named for the iconic brand that for more than 140 years has been synonymous with outdoor experiences, the Field & Stream store will offer a vast assortment of outdoor equipment, accessories and services in hunting, fishing, archery, camping and more.

“We look forward to opening the Field & Stream store and delivering a high level of service for the passionate outdoorsman,” said Joe Schmidt, president and COO, DICK’s Sporting Goods.  “DICK’s Sporting Goods originally began as a bait and tackle shop, and the Field & Stream store will build upon both brands heritage to provide an excellent customer experience for outdoor enthusiasts.”

Field & Stream is being created for a passionate outdoors audience and will employ people who are themselves enthusiasts, who can share their personal connections, expertise and experiences. The store will carry a wide variety of national brands and provide top of the line in-store services.

Dick’s Sporting Goods already operates the Golf Galaxy LLC specialty chain of golf stores.
