Nike, Inc.

Desk Title: Development Manager – ACG

Position Location: Portland, OR

The heart of Nike is built around one simple idea — innovate. Whether that innovation is called Nike Air or ACG or Nike Swift or Nike Shox, the principle is the same: think something that nobody has thought before, or improve something that already exists. It's how we create our products, and it's the way we treat the people we work with.

So take chances. Think bigger than the next achiever. Just know one thing. The more you succeed, the higher we'll raise the bar.

But would you really want it any other way?

As our Development Manager, you'll provide daily supervision and manage workflow to ensure the timely execution and commercialization of products in the assigned category. You'll ensure appropriate documentation, anticipate problems, facilitate problem solving and address issues in a timely manner. You'll communicate with vendor managers, regional and Liaison Offices (LO), product team members or others to ensure a smooth product development process. You'll also analyze manufacturing capabilities, anticipate problems, facilitate problem solving and address issues in a timely manner. You'll understand the risks of your decisions and how they affect the production process. You'll create and revise Bill of Materials for assigned styles. You'll ensure prototypes accurately reflect construction specifications and coordinate with Engineering, LOs, QA, Lab, Raw Materials and Colorist in critiquing prototypes and other submits as necessary. You'll manage a team and set team and individual goals. You'll provide leadership, coach and mentor Development staff and collaborate on hiring decisions, disciplinary actions, performance management and recognition and rewards. You'll also resolve employee relations issues and support diversity. You'll work with Development and category leadership to manage Human Resource planning, including recruiting, hiring, performance management, salary administration, training and succession planning for Nike Global Outerwear, ACG and USA Outerwear.
