During the fiscal year ending March 31, 2007, Descente, Ltd. saw a continuing trend as international expansion once again accounted for a larger portion of the company’s overall sales. Net sales increased 7.1% to ¥75.09 billion ($642.9 mm) from ¥70.13 billion ($620.7 mm) last year. Sales of ski apparel decreased 2.9% to ¥5.50 billion ($47.1 mm); athletic apparel increased 7.9% to ¥34.39 billion ($294.4 mm); golf increased 12.2% to ¥27.58 billion ($236.1 mm); but sportswear decreased 4.8% to ¥7.63 billion ($65.3 mm).

International sales increased 25.7% to ¥16.28 billion ($139.3 mm) from ¥12.95 billion ($114.6 mm) last year. Sales to North America increased 25.5% to ¥1.52 billion ($13.0 mm) from ¥1.21 billion ($10.7 mm) last year, while sales to Asia increased 25.7% to ¥14.76 billion ($126.3 mm) from ¥11.74 billion ($103.9 mm). Gross profit increased 180 basis points to 45.2% of net sales from 43.4% last year, but increased tax expenses caused net income to slide 10.2% to ¥2.48 billion ($21.3 mm) from ¥2.76 billion ($24.5 mm) last year.
