Derby Cycle AG said current pre-order figures from specialist bicycle retailers indicates it has exceeded the previous year's pre-order volume of Sept. 30, 2010 by 25% after completion of all of the year's key bicycle trade fairs.
The German company, now the apparent target of a hostile takeover by Accell Group of the the Netherlands just six months after going public, usually does not publish the pre-order volume for the coming bike season until after completing the financial year on September 30.
The company's management board is currently anticipating double-digit revenues growth year-on-year for the financial year 2011/12 due to strong demand among specialist retailers for electric bikes and sports bicycles from Derby Cycle brands.
