French sportswear retailer Decathlon has announced a new leadership structure for its UK and Ireland-based business, combining operations for the two territories under one executive team.
Elena Pecos, the CEO of Decathlon Ireland, will now also lead the UK. Pecos replaces Eric Mazillier, formerly CEO and managing director of the UK. Romain Gravigny, formerly the chief executive of Decathlon Australia, becomes the COO for the UK and Ireland.
Pecos joined Decathlon Spain in 2006 and has held various roles, including store management, finance leadership in Spain and France, and chief financial officer positions internationally in Chile and within the company’s circular economy team. She has also served as CEO of Decathlon Ireland since January 2023.
Gravigny has worked with Decathlon for over two decades and has extensive experience leading store networks and operations across multiple markets, including serving as the chief executive of Decathlon Australia since January 2023. In his new role, he will focus on driving operations, customer experience and growth for both markets.
Pecos said, “Together with Romain and our teams, we will build upon the great work Eric has delivered to produce a promising 2025 and continue to press ahead with our digital acceleration across the Decathlon UK and Ireland that has brought us closer to our customers and continues to make sport even more accessible to communities across both countries.”
Gravigny added, “Having been a part of the business for over 20 years, I understand the importance of keeping customers at the heart of everything we do, and our transformation strategy in-store and online will continue to deliver on our promise of helping everyone discover the wonder of sports.”
Decathlon’s UK and Ireland business operates 45 stores and expects to post revenue of €460 million ($538 mm) in 2025.
