Outdoor startups have until Thursday, Nov. 15 to submit applications for the Telluride Venture Accelerator’s (TVA) entrepreneur in-residence program, which awards $30,000 in seed capital and $8,000 toward transportation and lodging needed to participate in the six-month mentoring program.

TVA will announce winners in early January, 2013 and those winners will reside in Telluride from Feb. 1- July 30, 2013, when they will deliver a final investor presentation to angel and VC investors.

TVA will prioritize applications from companies producing cutting-edge technological products and services such as software, mobile, apps, and hardware in the areas of outdoor recreation, tourism, natural products, health and energy, water and education.

TVA will take a 4 percent equity stake in any venture it funds and reinvest any proceeds from the sale of such ventures back into its seed capital fund. TVA is a non-profit initiative of the Telluride Foundation focused on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

In addition to the $30,000 and $8,000 transportation and lodging allowance, winners will gain access to TVA mentors; recently remodeled co-working space in the beautiful Peaks Resort; meeting spaces; reliable, high-speed internet, and specific perks worth approximately $100,000. 3D printers may also be available.
