DC Shoes continues their tradition of partnering with innovative artists and designers for their Fall apparel and shoe collaboration with art collective CYRCLE.  The group’s two artists, Rabî and Davey, bring creativity and a passion for skateboarding to a collection of six apparel pieces and four footwear styles, creating a union of DC’s technical product design with CYRCLE.’s unique artistic perspective.

Each piece incorporates the collection’s design concept, based off of an updated take on camouflage.  The modern patterns utilize CYRCLE.’s signature halftones and a fresh color palette.  Footwear styles include DC’s classic Lynx skate shoe, the vulcanized Council and Council Mid, and athletic Player.  The collection extends to apparel with an eye-catching short-sleeve woven shirt and five panel cap, chinos, two crew neck tees and a “Fuck You, Love You” crew neck sweatshirt.

“The collection is based around the ‘fuck you, love you’ concept – fuck you when you fail, love you when you succeed,” says Rabî and Davey of CYRCLE. “It’s the emotional duality of tries and fails in skateboarding and life in general. When you attempt a trick, chances are you will fall a number of times before landing it. Commitment is the biggest challenge. This relates to our story as artists.”

Based in Los Angeles, CYRCLE.’s work focuses around themes of life, duality and the human condition, showcased through an aesthetic that plays with color, form and typeface through a wide range of mediums.  Whether the two artists are going rogue in the streets with attention-grabbing murals, blowing minds in a fine art gallery or collaborating with like-minded partners for product design, their work puts complex concepts in unexpected settings, urging the viewer to stop in their tracks, take notice and think differently.

“CYRCLE. has been creating some of the coolest, most provocative art pieces on a wide range of mediums and we're proud to have them apply their talents to this DC capsule collection, “ says Jeff Taylor, SVP of Global Brand Marketing.  “Supporting artists has always been part of DC's DNA and we're excited for everyone to see the results of this project.”

The DC Shoes x CYRCLE. collection will drop in stores and online on July 30.
