Local papers are reporting that D&R Sports Center, which operates stores in Nanticoke and Bloomsburg, Penn., was served a search warrant by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The Stores are owned by Mark Komoroski and his brother Theodore Komoroski. According to court filings obtained by SportsOneSource, D&R is suspected of illegally exporting firearms, night-vision scopes, and related accessories to Russia, Kuwait, Germany and Japan without the required licenses.

No charges have been filed, and agents are sorting through the material, said ATF spokesman John Hageman of the Philadelphia bureau. He gave no further information due to the ongoing investigation.

According to the local reports, Mark Komoroski said Wednesday he and his brother have all the required licenses and have shown them to federal agents.

The affidavit also alleges the Komoroskis conducted business with entities “that the United States government has determined pose an unacceptable risk of being involved with … international narcotics trafficking, crimes against humanity/war crimes, and/or terrorism.”

Komoroski stressed the allegations are absurd and untrue.

“I have absolutely no ties to the Taliban. It’s an absolute joke what this has turned into,” he was quoted as saying.
