Dalbello Skiboots & Elan Skis have announced the beginning of a new strategic global alliance. This new alliance, which officially begins January 1, 2007, involves partnerships in both the Unites States and Canada. Future partnerships are planned in other international markets.

Regarding the new Alliance in the USA, Clint Lyon, CEO of the newly formed DALBELLO~ELAN SPORTS said, “Dalbello and Elan firmly believe that focused, specialized companies have a distinct advantage when it comes to staying in touch with the consumer, remaining flexible and being responsive to the needs of the market. The rampant consolidations in our industry have primarily benefited the manufacturers with little or no direct benefit to retailers or consumers.

“There are, however, commercial advantages to being able to offer the “total package”. The new association between Dalbello and Elan offers the best solution. Both factories remain focused on their “core” businesses to ensure the best product innovations while at the same time the collections will be integrated to speak to specific target groups through cosmetics, technology, as well as price levels.”

“The new Alliance between Dalbello and Elan is a natural and perfect fit”, notes Martin Lehner, Executive Board Member of Elan, Slovenia. “Both companies share the same mission: to develop and produce the best engineered equipment for all skiers, while staying true to their core brand values. Outwardly both brands will be marketed separately but will also utilize their combined strength to increase visibility in terms of advertising, athlete sponsorships, demo vans, and cross-promotions” says Lehner.

The newly formed DALBELLO~ELAN SPORTS is the joint venture of Dalbello Sports LLC and Elan, Slovenia, with the Slovenian ski manufacturer becoming a minority shareholder in the US operation. The new Alliance creates a long term scenario where both companies are strategically and financially committed to the same objectives.

Elan’s USA operations will relocate from West Lebanon, New Hampshire to the Dalbello Sports facility in Andover, New Hampshire. Customer service, shipping and warranty will be integrated together with additional personnel to be announced at a later date.
