CW-X has expanded into Australia and New Zealand. It's part of the New York-based Wacoal Sports Science Corp.'s (WSSC) international growth plan targeting English-speaking countries. Last year the company made a successful launch into the Canadian market as a first step.

On the eve of its fifth anniversary, WSSC has appointed Beattie Matheson Ltd., Auckland, New Zealand, and Apex Sports Pty. Limited in Sydney, Australia, to represent the brand Down Under. Both distributors have extensive experience and much success in marketing outdoor sports performance brands in their respective markets.

Since its launch in 2002, CW-X Performance Conditioning Wear has expanded its presence in the U.S. to 750 retail locations in 49 states. Canadian distribution has grown to 85 locations in five provinces. Plans are already underway to market the brand in the U.K. where a distributor is currently being sought, according to WSSC's John L.A. Wilson, president and COO, who is directing the expansion from company headquarters in New York.

“Much of the success of our international growth is attributable to our participation in the running expos of major U.S. running marathons which provide valuable exposure to athletes from many countries,” he said citing the Boston, Chicago and New York marathons as particularly valuable in increasing brand exposure. “We're looking forward to working with our new Australia and New Zealand distributors and growing CW-X in both of these sports mad antipodean markets.”
