Crown Trails Headwear announced they have joined 1% for the Planet, pledging to donate 1 percent of annual sales to support nonprofit organizations focused on the environment.

Crown Trails Headwear makes hats, caps and beanies donning the crests of our National Scenic Trails and National Parks and is committed to supporting the outdoors and our environment. Founded in 2016, Crown Trails Headwear is based on a unique business model in which it gives a portion of all sales back to the non-profit partners they work with to help them manage and protect the natural resource.

“Our member companies have donated more than $175 million to our environmental nonprofit partners to date. Currently, only 3% of total philanthropy goes to the environment and, only 3% of that comes from businesses. The planet needs bigger support than this, and our growing network of member businesses is doing its valuable part to increase giving and support on the ground outcomes. Our members lead with purpose and commitment, characteristics that consumers support. We’re excited to welcome Crown Trails Headwear to our global network,” says Kate Williams, CEO of 1% for the Planet.

“We at Crown Trails Headwear are dedicated to giving back to the wild places we personally love and we’re thrilled to be a part of 1% of the Planet,” said Whitney LaRuffa, Crown Trails national sales manager. “They have a proven track record and are completely aligned with what we set out to accomplish as a brand by giving back and making a difference for our public lands and the environment.”
