Sunglass brand Costa del Mar has tapped Backbone Media as its communications agency of record, effective November 1. The Colorado-based agency will partner with Costa for public relations for its core fishing initiatives and media planning and buying for angling and optical trade in North America.

“Backbone Media’s experience with top-tier brands in the fishing category, coupled with its passion for the outdoors, will provide us with a fresh approach to connect with today’s anglers and even broaden our appeal with new ones,” said Bud Hanson, group leader, fishing communities at Costa.

Kara Armano at Backbone will be the brand’s new direct contact. Formerly, Liza Jones and Hannah Trotter at FullCirclePR were the lead representatives for the sunglass label.
