Columbia Sportswear Company will make a $15,000 donation to One World Family, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of South African children impacted by AIDS. The donation will be presented to the organization founders in Capetown, South Africa by Columbia Sportswear Chairman, Gertrude Boyle.

“We're very excited that we can contribute to an organization that touches so many children's lives in South Africa,” said Gert Boyle. “As we continue to distribute our products throughout the world, we're pleased to partner with organizations that have a sizeable and global impact.”

Columbia Sportswear will distribute its products through Foschini Retail Group, a subsidiary of Foschini Limited, throughout South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland, and Lesotho. Initially, Foschini Retail Group is offering the Columbia collection in “Due South,” its new retail concept opening late 2004 with seven stores located in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Pretoria.

One World Family and its South African partner, Community Internship and Development Center (CIDC), support the work of community-based organizations in KwaZulu Natal. The partnership of both organizations helps to improve the quality of life for those suffering from the realities of AIDS. For these victims, the community organizations focus on providing home-based, foster and surrogate care as well as aid to child or granny headed households, skills development, and educational opportunities.
