Columbia Sportswear Company plans to open its newest Columbia branded
store on Thursday, April 8 in Minneapolis Uptown neighborhood.

Located at 3014 Hennepin Avenue South, the store measures 11,000 square-foot and features the company’s Columbia and Sorel brands.

“We are thrilled to showcase our innovative outdoor products to the active Minneapolis Uptown residents,” said Tim Boyle, president and chief executive officer, Columbia Sportswear Company. “Minnesota residents and visitors love to hike, bike, ski, fish, hunt, golf or simply enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors, and Columbia offers the outdoor products and technologies they need to enjoy all their activities in comfort, rain or shine.”

Grand opening events for the new store will begin Thursday, April 8 at 6 p.m. with an evening of live music and prizes, including the company’s award-winning Mobex backpack, valued at $100.00, for the first 50 people to enter the store.

Customers will have the opportunity to win $500 gift cards on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Columbia will also tap into the Minneapolis music scene, showcasing local bands in a mini music festival inside the store throughout the weekend. In addition, 10% of combined weekend sales from the Uptown store and Columbia’s Mall of America store will benefit Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness.

Columbia customers will also have the chance to enter to win an amazing “Greater Outdoors Getaway” for 4 to the Boundary Waters Wilderness. The trip will include luxury villa accommodations at the award-winning River Point Resort, a guided canoe trip on the Boundary Waters, a fuel and food allowance, and a $500 Columbia Gift Card.
