Columbia Sportswear has nominated Andy D. Bryant for election as a director. In connection with the nomination of Bryant, the number of directors to be elected to the board of directors of the Company has been increased from eight to nine. Other nominees for director include Gertrude Boyle, Timothy P. Boyle, Sarah A. Bany, Murrey R. Albers, Stephen E. Babson, Edward S. George, Walter T. Klenz and John W. Stanton, each of whom is now a director of the Company. Election will take place at the Company's annual meeting on May 24, 2005.

Andy Bryant, age 54, is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial and Enterprise Services Officer of Intel Corporation. During his 24-year career with Intel, he has held numerous operating and finance positions. He joined Intel in 1981 as Controller for the Commercial Memory Systems Operation and became the Chief Financial Officer in February 1994. His role expanded to Chief Financial and Enterprise Services Officer in December 1999. He serves on the board of directors of Kryptiq Corporation and Synopsys, Inc. but does not intend to stand for reelection to the board of directors of Synopsys, Inc. this year. He received a degree in economics from the University of Missouri and his MBA from the University of Kansas; is married and is the father of two.
