George Schott, one of the original founders and the current VP of sales and marketing for Native Eyewear, has announced he will leave the company, effective Jan. 16, 2009. Schott said he was leaving to pursue other avenues outside of the sales field.

Schott also confirmed that operations for Native Eyewear, a sunglass and goggle manufacturer targeting the mountain sports crowd, would be moving from its current headquarters in Philadelphia, PA to Denver, CO. Schott said this was a small factor in his decision to leave Native, but maintained that the move would be extremely beneficial for the brand. Schott said the move was necessary because Native’s parent company, A.T. Cross Company, wants the Native brand to “walk the walk and talk the talk.”

Schott said Native’s current inside sales manager would be leaving the company, but the majority of the sales team would remain intact. “The Cross Optical Group has done a great job of keeping as many things intact as they can,” said Schott. “They’ve been very professional and I’m leaving on excellent terms.”

Schott’s new pursuits will include launching a company within the consulting field called 3*2*1. The company’s initiative will be to help start-up operations establish themselves within the market.
