Club Ride had hired longtime industry veteran Scott Montgomery as its new CEO and partner.  Most recently, Montgomery started Scott Sports' bike division and turned it into a significant player in the US.

In more than 20 years with Cannondale, Montgomery founded their divisions in Europe and Japan and gained a strong reputation within the global cycling industry as a proven leader and successful brand builder.

Montgomery will be spearheading strategic planning efforts as Club Ride continues its national growth and begins preparations to enter foreign markets. “I'm excited to be involved with founder/partner Mike Herlinger and chairman/partner John Perenchio, and to contribute to the roots of Club Ride,” said Montgomery. “We will work together to actively expand the scope of this company.”

Montgomery first met Herlinger as a customer buying Club Ride's innovative Go West cycling jersey for riding the beautiful trails of Sun Valley. With a shared passion for riding and belief that the world is ready for an alternative to lycra, the partners began working together to promote Club Ride around the country. Short term goals include expanding the sales force and dealer base within the US, developing more innovative products for 2013, and adding staff to bolster customer service, marketing, and product management and production resources.

“Scott has been integrating into the company over the past few months, listening and learning and will now start full-time, guns blazing to help propel the company forward,” noted Herlinger. Perenchio added, “Scott has invested personal assets into the company and is completely committed to Club Ride's mission: combining technical features and style to create performance cycling apparel for mountain biking, commuting and living a lifestyle built around the benefits of cycling.”
