Collective Licensing International LLC, which owns the snowboard company Sims, has agreed to a licensing agreement with COMP-X to create a collection of boards with Sims through 2016.
“We look forward to collaborating with COMP-X on the continued expansion of the SIMS® brand,” said Bruce Pettet, President and CEO of CLI. “It will be exciting to collaborate with COMP-X and produce great merchandise that will build additional brand awareness.”
Headquartered in Saguenay, Québec, Canada, COMP-X was founded and is currently run by well-respected, snowboard industry icon Louis (LOFO) Fournier. Fournier has been involved with bringing innovative, performance-based technologies to the snowboard market for more than 30 years. Fournier’s innovations include early folding highback binding prototypes. From 1985 to 1987, Fournier worked at SIMS®, developing and producing some of the first production boards made in Canada, including the SIMS® Blade Series: The Blade, The Switch Blade and the Pocketknife. Fournier also produced boards for industry legends Tom Sims, Craig Kelly, Terry Kidwell, Shaun Palmer and Tim Windell, among others.
