City Sports announced that its 21st store is now open in Silver Spring, Md.. The Silver Spring shop marks City Sports' second store in the metro DC
area to open in the past year, as the retailer nears the first
anniversary of opening its flagship store in Georgetown.
The store is located at 8510 Fenton Street in Downtown Silver Spring. The store moves into the retail space vacated by Pier 1 Imports earlier this year.
City Sports will celebrate the opening of the Silver Spring location with a free community party on December 3rd, gifting over $1,000 in product giveaways to holiday shoppers.

Offering City Sports' trademark customer service and gear expertise, the Silver Spring store is set to become the premier downtown shopping destination for athletic lifestyle enthusiasts in the area. Store associates – athletes themselves – are available to personally assist shoppers with everything from apparel recommendations and equipment demos as they peruse City Sports' unrivaled collection of bike, swim, tennis and training gear, to specialty gait analysis as they shop for sneakers at the store's footwear wall. The store also features an interactive electronics section that offers shoppers the use of in-store iPads to access information about products and the ability to wear-test headphones.
One of the key features of the Silver Spring store is City Sports' signature women's concept, a specially curated experience designed specifically for its female customer that the brand first introduced this past summer. The section houses the most comprehensive assortment of sports bras of any specialty athletic retailer, a large selection of training pants, yoga and pilates gear, private fitting rooms and an iMac communal area, where customers can access the City Sports' online Bra Finder application hosted on the brand's website. Staff exclusive to the women's section are also on hand to provide private fit consultations and product expertise to customers as they shop.
City Sports' Silver Spring opening party will take place on Saturday, December 3rd from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open to all patrons. A festive and family-friendly atmosphere is planned with a DJ, treats from local vendors raffles worth over $1,000 of in-store merchandise, including a GoPro(TM) digital camera. The first 100 people to enter the store at the start of the event will also receive a free City Sports gift bag and have the chance to win the brand's signature grand prize: one free pair of shoes a month for an entire year.
