City Sports announced plans to relocate its Ardmore, PA location in the Suburban Square shopping center, providing a completely revamped retail experience.

City Sports' Ardmore store will move from its present location within the Suburban Square complex into the space previously occupied by Talbots.

At 8,000 square feet, the new location will accommodate upgrades planned for a refreshed and fully integrated shopping experience, including the brand's new women's concept.

“The Suburban Square project is the embodiment of City Sports' dedication over the past six months to providing a bigger and better shopping experience for our Philadelphia-area customers,” said City Sports President and CEO Jeff Connor. “We look forward to enhancing our presence in the Ardmore community and surpassing the expectations of the athletes we serve.”

The Ardmore project marks the latest move in City Sports' commitment to upgrading its consumer offering in Philadelphia, as the brand opened a new store in Wayne in November following a remodel of its downtown location on Walnut Street last summer.

Planned features of the new space will build upon City Sports' heritage as the go-to destination for athletic lifestyle enthusiasts in Ardmore.

One highlight: the brand's signature women's experience, a specially curated concept designed specifically for its female customer that includes apparel and fit consultants, and the most comprehensive assortment of sports bras of any specialty athletic retailer. Additional features include communal access to the citysports.com Bra Finder application, and a huge selection of training pants, yoga and pilates gear.

The store will continue to focus on its core offerings, featuring the best in running, swim, cycling and training gear, and will include a freestanding footwear wall and specially trained staff to offer expert, activity-specific assistance for customers. Shoppers can also use in-store iPads to access information about products and wear-test headphones, as well as lockers for participants in City Sports' group activities, including its weekly Run Club and Boot Camp series.

To celebrate the Suburban Sq move, City Sports will host a grand opening party on Saturday, Jan. 28th, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. that's free to all patrons. A family-friendly atmosphere is planned including a DJ, treats from local vendors and raffles worth over $1000 of in-store merchandise. The first 100 people that enter the store will receive a free City Sports tee and the chance to win a $250 City Sports shopping spree. An open-registration 5K fun run will also take place at 10:30 a.m.

The company operates 20 metropolitan stores across the East Coast, with locations in Boston, Providence, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Atlanta.
