In a continuing effort to develop best-in-class products and increase its market share in the athletic footwear category through improved innovation and design, Fila CEO Jon Epstein has named Chris Brewer as VP Performance Footwear for the company.

In his new role, Mr. Brewer will oversee design and development of all Fila global performance footwear product categories including running, basketball, tennis, fitness and soccer. He will create global product ranges within each category and will work with Fila subsidiaries around the world to improve distribution of Fila performance footwear in their markets.

Prior to joining Fila, Mr. Brewer was at Mizuno USA for six years as a Director of Footwear Marketing. Mr. Brewer was an integral member of a global product team that developed running, volleyball, soccer and rugby footwear.

His efforts contributed to Mizuno earning six Editor's Choice Awards from Runner's World magazine and helped the brand make significant inroads within athletic and specialty distribution channels.

Brewer has also been a Business Unit Manager – Running at adidas America and he has specialty retail management experience.

Mr. Brewer hails from Annandale, Virginia and is a 1990 graduate of the University of Georgia. He is an avid runner and experienced scuba diver.

Mr. Brewer will relocate to Fila's headquarters in Sparks, Maryland, from Atlanta, Georgia where he currently lives with his wife Rosemary and their son Peter.
