CenterStone Technologies, Inc., a Denver-based developer of Web software and services for managing sales orders, announces the addition of Terry Gates to its staff. Gates is the senior vice president of technology and is in charge of all engineering and technology groups associated with the company’s development and technology operations.

“With more than 15 years of technology and managerial experience, Gates has the skills necessary to successfully grow the company domestically and abroad,” said Tom Detmer, president and CEO of CenterStone Technologies. “We’re happy to have him on board and excited about the competitive advantage he’ll provide our company. CenterStone continues to add clients at a rapid pace, and these clients have more demanding requirements of our software applications. Terry’s proven IT leadership will help us continue to meet our clients’ high expectations.”

At CenterStone, Gates will provide strong product management expertise, and he will assist in the architectures of software applications so that the applications will scale and adapt to new features that are required to grow the company. Gates will also be directing the company’s international applications to enable the software to accept European features so multi-national brands can use a common sales order-management platform worldwide. “The application can handle preseason, reorders and employee orders in five languages including English, French, German, Spanish and Italian,” Gates said. “We plan to expand the software to accept Scandinavian and other languages beginning in 2005.”

Prior to joining CenterStone, Gates was the senior vice president of architecture, technology and client support for McKesson. There, Gates managed the development of low cost Linux-based clinical applications. He also managed the client support organizations responsible for the support of approximately 250 clients, quality assurance and systems engineering teams. Prior to McKesson, Gates was the vice president of technology for Experian and 24/7 Media and also worked for companies such as: Access Health Inc., Informed Access Systems, HBO & Company, CliniCom and the Department of Commerce's Institute for Telecommunication Sciences.

Gates received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming.
