Cascade Designs sent out a letter to retailers and media late last week announcing that the company will be delaying the delivery schedule for two of the stoves debuted in August at OR Summer Market. The new MSR two-burner stove and capillary technology stove system will not be shipped into the market in 2005.

The letter stated “While the two-burner stove certainly inspired “gear lust”, we received consistent feedback from the marketplace since OR that the retail price would limit the sales potential for this product. Cascade Designs has decided to re-design this model in order to achieve a stronger retail price point.”

The capillary stove, which garnered much praise and attention from buyers at the Summer Market, will not be delivered because of the inability of Cascade Design’s key vendor, Vapore, to supply the capillary force vaporizer (CFV).

Both stoves should reach the market in spring of 2006, and the new MSR integrated canister stove system, which was originally slated for Holiday 2005 delivery, will be accelerated in product development to hit an earlier release date. The new MSR XGK is still on track and will be released in February 2005.
