As part of the four-year deal with Alpine Canada Alpin (ACA), Wacoal Sports Science Corp. (WSSC), based in New York City, will supply base layer tops and bottoms for the Canadian Alpine and Para-Alpine Ski Teams to wear during training and competition.

As Official Supplier Partner of the ACA, WSSC will also outfit coaches and team trainers in high performance base layer garments.

In return, WSSC has the right to use Alpine Canada Alpin’s imagery, phraseology and corporate marks; it will have access to Official Retail Partners of the ACA; and will have access to ACA sport sciences initiatives such as the wind tunnel and other programs to insure optimal equipment development. Contests and client entertainment opportunities are also being discussed.

In the last six years, the Canadian Alpine Ski Team has leapt from 12th in world rankings to sixth, and were looking for the best equipment possible as part of the “Own The Podium” initiative.

“Alpine Canada Alpin has a number of initiatives underway to help us become the best in the world at every level,” said Max Gartner, chief athletics officer and director of Own The Podium (OTP) projects.  “It takes the best products to do that and our athletes were already asking for CW-X when we approached the company.”

Adds John L.A. Wilson, president and COO of Wacoal Sports Science Corp., “We view this as an opportunity to aggressively promote the CW-X brand in the Canadian Alpine market.”

Wacoal Sports Science Corp. has been issued patents for CW-X technology in Japan and Europe, with 15 patents in the U.S. alone.
