Canada Goose Holdings, Inc. reported that current EVP of Global Stores Daniel Binder will assume the role of president of the Asia Pacific region, effective April 2026, with Jonathan Sinclair stepping down from the role as part of a succession plan. The move follows Sinclair’s work to establish a “strong foundation of operational discipline during his tenure,” according to a Canada Goose media release. Sinclair, who previously served as the company’s chief financial officer, will remain on the Board of the company’s regional subsidiaries.
Canada Goose added that Binder is already working closely with regional leaders in the Asia Pacific market, utilizing his “extensive experience across the region.” As part of this transition, he will step down from his current role.
In other news, Niclas Ekerot has joined the company as SVP of Global Stores.
Ekerot, who succeeds Binder as SVP of Global Stores, reportedly brings over 25 years of luxury retail experience to the role, having held senior leadership positions at Bottega Veneta, Michael Kors, Gucci, and most recently, Burberry. Canada Goose stated, “His deep expertise in global retail operations, brand elevation and customer experience will be instrumental as Canada Goose continues to strengthen and expand its retail presence globally.”
Lastly, Ana Mihaljevic, president of North America, plans to leave the company in February to pursue new opportunities.
Mihaljevic is leaving in February after over a decade at Canada Goose. Carrie Baker, president of Brand and Commercial, will oversee the North America market on an interim basis while the company conducts a search for Mihaljevic’s successor.
“We are deeply grateful to Jonathan and Ana and thank them for their longstanding service and contributions, which have helped build the foundation for our next chapter,” said Dani Reiss, chairman and CEO of Canada Goose. “We also welcome Dan and Niclas into their new roles. Dan’s proven ability to drive transformation and Niclas’s deep expertise in luxury retail will be critical as we scale our business in Asia Pacific and elevate our retail experience worldwide.”
