Camper, the Spanish footwear brand, has acquired a 60 percent stake in Greek luxury brand Ancient Greek Sandals.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Nikolas Minoglou and Christina Martini, the co-founders of Ancient Greek Sandals, and co-owner Yiannis Vagenas retain a minority stake in the company. The brand will continue to be led by the current management team. “Ancient Greek Sandals will continue to operate as a completely independent brand, preserving its unique Greek identity and distinctive aesthetic,” Camper stated in a press release. “At the same time, this integration will allow the Athens-based company to fully access Camper’s global capabilities,”

“Welcoming Ancient Greek Sandals into our family is a particularly exciting milestone for us,” said Miguel Fluxá, CEO of Camper and a member of the fourth generation of the founding family. “Nikolas and Christina have built a wonderful brand, whose commitment to quality and craftsmanship resonates deeply with our own values. Their Mediterranean roots echo our DNA. We are delighted to embark on this new chapter together and to provide them with our international infrastructure to support the long-term development of their independent vision.”

“Partnering with Camper is a dream come true for us,” said Nicolas Minoglou, Co-Founder and CEO of Ancient Greek Sandals. “From day one, Christina and I have been driven by our passion for the history of Greek shoemaking. Joining forces with a historic, family-owned company like Camper gives us the operational, technological, and commercial support we need to fully realise our potential, while preserving the creative freedom to remain an independent brand. We couldn’t be more excited about the journey ahead.”
