Sally McCoy, long time CEO and GM of CamelBak, will be keynote speaker at the Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition (OIWC) awards presentation at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in January.

The focus of the keynote, which is presented by Arc'teyrx, is to explore solutions that move the active outdoor industry toward greater leadership diversity and inclusion. The 2016 Keynote will also be celebrating OIWC’s 20th anniversary.
It will take place Jan. 9, 2016, from 7-9am at the Marriott Downtown, in Salt Lake City, UT.

McCoy was recognized by Outside Magazine as a Top Innovators of the Last 25 Years in 2002 for being one of the first leaders to develop women’s clothing and products for the outdoors. She has also served as Board Chair of both the Outdoor Industry Association and the Conservation Alliance.

“Sally is a thought leader around business sustainability and innovation, and is well recognized and respected among her peers. In addition, she is an industry visionary who leads a business that is built on new and emerging technologies giving her a unique perspective around industry opportunities,” said Deanne Buck, Executive Director of OIWC. “We are honored to have the opportunity to provide a platform for her to share her expertise with the industry leaders and influencers who attend Outdoor Retailer.”

OIWC recognizes CamelBak as a respected and inspired leader in the area of workplace culture that drives inclusion and innovation. CamelBak understands this from both a business imperative in and of itself, as well as, how it relates to growing a sustainable participant and consumer base. Under McCoy’s leadership CamelBak has repeatedly established itself as “Best Places to Work” by Outside Magazine and as a company that has successfully recruited women into positions where they have been traditionally underrepresented: product designers, engineers and sales.

In addition to McCoy’s remarks, the event will also include the presentation of the 2016 Outdoor Industry Pioneering Woman and First Ascent awards. Previous winners of these awards, include: Donna Carpenter, President of Burton; and Sally Jewell, U.S. Secretary of the Interior.

The Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition is the only national organization dedicated to workplace diversity and inclusion by expanding opportunities for women and companies in the outdoor, snow, run, and bike industries. Learn more at oiwc.org
