CamelBak has appointed Greg Williamson as president of the company, effective July 16. Williamson has experience in consumer products and large global brands, specifically in strategy and product development, channel marketing and brand building and international markets.

Prior to joining CamelBak, Williamson was CMO for EagleRider Motorcycle Rentals and Tours and CMO for Arctic Cat Inc. He has two decades of experience with leading hardware brands and he was president of Stanley Black & Decker-Pfister Faucets.

“The iconic nature of the brand and the position it has carved out in the marketplace is impressive and a tremendous asset,” Williamson said. “Over the years I have come to appreciate leading committed teams who are passionate about what they do and the customers they serve. This dynamic is incredibly evident at CamelBak and gives us a strong foundation as we move the business forward. These are products and end markets I get excited about and personally participate in, so when the offer was made to come lead the team, the decision was a no-brainer.”

Williamson also said he recognized the brand’s unique potential to reinvigorate the current product portfolio with meaningful innovation and consumer value.

“CamelBak has nearly 30 years of providing innovative solutions in hydration for athletes and outdoor enthusiasts,” Williamson said. “As a market leader, the challenge is to determine the best way to leverage that history and equity for the next phase of growth for the business.”

In addition to spending time with his wife and their two children, Williamson is an avid runner who has competed in several half and full marathons over the years. Having spent several years in Southern California, he has also taken up mountain biking, surfing and the occasional beach volleyball game.

Williamson is working from CamelBak headquarters in Petaluma, CA.
