Callaway Golf Co. filed a lawsuit against Fortune Brands Inc. The complaint alleges that some of Fortune unit Acushnet Co.'s Titleist and Cobra brand drivers use “breakthrough” inventions patented by Callaway since 2002, according to a lawsuit filed June 8 in federal court in Wilmington, Del.

“Acushnet's continued manufacture and sale” of the clubs “constitutes willful infringement,” Callaway said in its complaint, which seeks unspecified damages and an order to stop using the technology.

Callaway sued a subsidiary of Fortune Brands Inc. last year for infringing four of its golf ball patents.
