Cabela's will open its newest destination retail store
in Hammond, Ind., on Friday, October 19, 2007. The store, Cabela's
first in Indiana, is the company's 23rd retail location in the country.

Up to four million people could visit the Hammond store
annually, making it one of the top tourist attractions in the state. The 185,000-square-foot, large-format destination store is located
at the site of the former Woodmar Country Club at the intersection of
I-80 and I-94 and Indianapolis Boulevard. A customer's average stay at a Cabela's store
has been estimated at a remarkable 3 1/2 hours, with half of the
visitors coming from outside of 50 miles.

“We are thrilled that Hammond will be Cabela's first Indiana
location,” said Dennis Highby, Cabela's president and chief executive
officer. “We are proud to bring the Cabela's shopping and entertainment
experience to our loyal customers on the Northern side of the state.”

Store manager James Beckett, Jr. will hire up to 400 employees. Cabela's
employees are mostly expected to come from Hammond, Indiana and
the surrounding area.
