The Hoosiers have made the switch from Nike to adidas for the school’s entire athletic department. The decision marks the first time that adidas has been the licensed product vendor for all of IU’s sports. Nike had held a majority of the contract since 2001, with adidas producing only soccer apparel.

Athletics Director Terry Clapacs told the IU university paper, “We went through the request process and opened it up to everyone… In the end, Adidas ended up being the best deal for IU.”

The new cream and crimson uniforms will show up on players backs and in the university varsity shop no later than August 1, 2004.
