Burton Snowboards’ chief executive officer and 29-year company veteran, John Lacy, is leaving the brand. Donna Carpenter, the wife of brand founder Jake Burton Carpenter, will serve as the company’s interim CEO until Lacy’s successor is hired.
“John and Donna have come to a mutual decision that it is time for John to pursue his next chapter beyond his role as CEO. He will remain with Burton through the end of June to support a smooth transition,” Burton said in a media statement.
Lacy, who joined the Vermont-based company in 1997, assumed the co-CEO position in October 2018, before taking the helm solo after the passing of founder Jake Burton Carpenter, in February 2020.
Lacy’s next career move was not disclosed.
